Anxiety therapy in Chicago, IL

Discover lasting relief from anxiety.

Anxiety can make you feel like you’ll never catch up or like you have to be “on” every minute of the day.

And while at least 1 in 3 adults will experience problematic levels of anxiety during their lifetime, the symptoms are not the same for everyone. Some ways anxiety might be showing up for you could include:

  • Physical symptoms like a racing heartbeat, sweating, shallow breathing, jaw clenching, or shaking;

  • Feeling constantly worried, overwhelmed, or unable to "switch off" your thoughts;

  • Difficulty falling or staying asleep, OR sleeping too much;

  • Significant changes in appetite;

  • Feeling like you can’t concentrate, leading to poor work or school performance;

  • Losing interest in activities you once enjoyed;

  • Relationship problems such as struggling to communicate effectively, rushing to conflict, or feeling disconnected from others;

  • Feeling unusually angry or irritable;

  • Becoming unusually sensitive to stimuli in your environment like sounds, smells, or touch;

  • Feeling like you can’t make important decisions.

Frequently asked questions

  • I focus on creating a holistic therapy plan that is tailored to you and your unique needs. I draw from evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, which focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to anxiety, and mindfulness therapy, which enhances awareness and coping. By combining these proven strategies with compassionate, collaborative support, we will work together to help you get to the root of your anxiety, manage your symptoms, and take charge of your well-being.

  • Our first sessions will be focused on creating a connected, judgement-free relationship, understanding your current lived experience, and learning about your goals for therapy. With that strong foundation, we can then move into work that can include:

    • Understanding your strengths so we can build on the skills you already bring;

    • Learning new, practical strategies such as mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, and behavioral techniques to reduce your anxiety symptoms; and

    • Exploring patterns to understand the root of your anxiety and change the responses that are holding you back.

  • Medication can be a powerful tool to help you in your journey to overcome anxiety. While I don’t prescribe, I can always provide you a referral and work with you and your physician to help you understand your medication and it’s impact on your care.
